Overview
Sapanca and Maşukiye sit in the green country between Istanbul and Sakarya — a lake ringed by forest, and a village of streams and waterfalls at the foot of the Samanlı mountains. It is one of the easiest nature escapes from the city, and this trip packs the best of it into a single day.
The day mixes light adventure — an aquarium and lion park, a cable car, a zipline, and an ATV safari — with slower moments: lunch over a running stream in Maşukiye, the Mahmudiye waterfalls, and time by the lake itself. There are stops at a Turkish delight maker and an organic honey house along the way.

Itinerary
Morning pickup in Istanbul
An early start from Istanbul, heading east toward the green hills between the city and Sakarya.
Tuzla Aquarium & Lion Park (Viasea)
Walk the aquarium tunnels among sharks, rays, and reef fish, then visit the lion park alongside.
Turkish delight factory
A stop at a traditional lokum maker to see how it is produced and taste the pistachio and rose varieties.
Sapanca cable car (teleferik)
Ride the gondola up the hillside for panoramic views over Lake Sapanca and the surrounding forest.
Mount Kartepe
